What to Expect From Your Utah County Newborn Studio Photo Session
I’m someone who really likes to know the process before I get involved.
If I’m going to a new restaurant, I’m looking up the menu beforehand. Going somewhere I’ve never been? I’m checking where to park and figuring out the best route. Getting dressed for the day? I need to know what the weather is going to be like and what I’ll actually be doing that day.
Basically, I like to know what I’m walking into.
So, if you’re anything like me, let me tell you exactly what you can expect from your Utah County newborn studio photo session with me.
My goal is to make your newborn photography experience simple, relaxed, and as stress-free as possible…because you already have enough going on.
Where Is Your Newborn Photography Studio Located?
My studio is located at 676 N. White Horse Drive in Spanish Fork, Utah.
You can park anywhere in the cul-de-sac or in the driveway. You’ll enter through the large open gate with a sign featuring my logo. Then, just come on into the sage green building with the red door. I’ll be inside waiting for you!
One important note: There is no public restroom available for client use, so please make prior arrangements if you’ll need one during your visit.
How Long Does a Studio Newborn Photo Session Take?
My studio newborn photography sessions typically last about an hour to an hour and a half.
I know you’re tired. You’re busy. You probably have approximately 47 things on your mental to-do list. And if you have other children, there’s a pretty good chance at least one of them is currently asking you for a snack.
So I don’t believe your newborn photography session needs to take half your day.
Because I photograph babies in a natural, baby-led way, we can create a variety of beautiful images without spending hours trying to get your baby into complicated poses.
During your session, there is plenty of time to:
Feed your baby
Change diapers
Offer a pacifier
Snuggle your baby
Take a break when needed
Photograph your baby naturally and comfortably
There’s no need to rush. We simply work around what your baby needs.
What Should I Bring to a Newborn Photography Session?
You really don’t need to bring much with you.
For your baby, I recommend arriving with them dressed in a simple outfit or an outfit that can easily be removed. This allows us to photograph your baby in what you bring them in or just their diaper.
Parents should bring:
A pacifier, if your baby uses one
A bottle or milk, if needed
Extra diapers
Wipes
Snacks and anything else older siblings might need
I providediaper covers and simple white swaddles that can be used during your newborn session.
My goal is to keep things simple. You just had a baby. You do not need to pack like you’re preparing for a three-week expedition into the wilderness.
How Will My Baby Be Photographed?
This is one of the things that makes my newborn photography style different.
I truly believe babies are beautiful and perfect exactly as they are. Because of that, I photograph newborns in a simple, natural, baby-led style.
Your baby may be photographed comfortably lying on a bed, peacefully sleeping, stretching, yawning, snuggling, or resting in your arms.
I don’t force babies into complicated poses or positions that are uncomfortable or unnatural for them.
Instead, I follow your baby’s cues and let their natural movements guide the session. This allows me to capture all those tiny details you’ll want to remember—the little fingers, sleepy faces, stretches, rolls, yawns, and expressions that make your baby uniquely yours.
What Can Parents and Siblings Expect During the Session?
Parents and older siblings are always welcome, and encouraged, to be part of your newborn photos.
So please come dressed and ready to be in some photographs!
Those first few weeks of your baby’s life are such a special time. The way your newborn fits into your arms, the tiny fingers wrapped around yours, the way an older sibling looks at their new baby, those connections are worth remembering.
What Can I Expect From My Utah County Newborn Photographer?
I try really hard to make your Utah County newborn studio session as simple and stress-free as possible.
Becoming a new parent or welcoming a new baby into an already busy family can be overwhelming. You’re figuring out your new normal, probably not sleeping enough, and wondering how you are somehow supposed to keep another tiny person alive. The last thing I want is for your newborn photography session to become another source of stress.
