LEGACY PORTRAITS

When was the last time you had a truly great portrait taken?

Not just a quick snapshot—but a portrait that reflects your personality, flatters you, and tells a meaningful part of your story. A Legacy Portrait is a beautifully crafted, timeless image that captures your unique spirit and character. It’s more than just a photograph—it’s a lasting reflection of who you are, created with intention and care. These portraits often become treasured, unexpected gifts for your loved ones. A gift they didn’t even know they needed—until they had it. Legacy Portraits are especially meaningful for your family and children. They serve as a way to preserve your story and presence, long after the moment has passed.

Planning ahead brings peace of mind.

Losing a loved one is never easy. It comes with grief, stress, and often the sudden task of gathering photos for a memorial. By creating a Legacy Portrait now, you’re giving your family one less thing to worry about later. You’re ensuring that the tribute they give you is not only thoughtful but beautifully and professionally

What to Wear:

Simple is Always Best

When in doubt, keep it simple. Loud, busy patterns — giant florals, big plaid, rugby stripes — can totally steal the show (and not in a good way). Smaller prints like tiny stripes, calicos, or subtle dots add just enough visual interest without upstaging that sweet face I’m really after.

Solid Colors & A Little Texture Go a Long Way

Soft neutrals — white, cream, gray, black, pale blue, dusty pink — photograph beautifully, especially with the classic studio portraits I create. Want a bit more color? Stick with earthy or jewel tones.

If you want to add a bit of depth to your photos….add texture!I LOVE TEXTURE and LAYERS! Think, a suit coat jacket, a knit sweater, or something with a collar.

Please, Be YOU!

Listen, these are just tips! I want you to you like….you! I want you to feel confident and show your personality and look and feel your best…so relax, don’t over think it…and just be yourself!

My Story

A few years ago, my dad passed away. Years earlier, he had become
seriously ill, and his declining health made it hard to plan a portrait session. We kept saying we’d do it “next time”—but next time never came.

Even as a photographer, I missed the chance to capture a meaningful portrait of him. It’s a regret I carry.

That experience drives my mission today: don’t wait to preserve your story—or the stories of those you love.

Photographs are more than images—they’re what we leave behind. They are the things our families hold onto most—long after we’re gone.

About Laura

I hold a BFA in Photography from BYU–Idaho and have over 15 years of ex- perience photographing individuals and families. Raised on a dairy farm in Southern Idaho with three older brothers, I learned the value of hard work and gained a snarky sense of humor. I now live with my husband and three lively kids—most of whom have red hair.
